Hello everybody!

Let’s talk about one of the biggest tourist attractions in Connecticut today: Foxwoods Resort Casino! This is an integrated resort that is owned and operated by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation on their reservation in Ledyard, Connecticut. It covers an area of 9,000,000 square feet, has a total of six casinos with more than 250 gaming tables for blackjack, craps, roulette, and poker, more than 5,500 slot machines, several restaurants, two hotel towers with 2,228 hotel rooms, an arcade, and a retail complex with 85 stores. 

I’m going to be honest with you all right now, I had no idea how I would address this blog post, as there are two parts of the casino that are easily worth talking about: the restaurants and the upcoming shows. In my mind, both are equally fascinating, but I also don’t know if I can address both of them in a single blog post, so here’s what I am going to do. I am going to start writing this with the intention of talking about both of them, by starting with the restaurants, and then talking about upcoming shows, and if it gets to be too much for one blog post, I will end up making a separate one for upcoming shows here. 

So, with all that out of the way, let’s start talking about some restaurants, because honestly, there are some really cool ones here!

The first restaurant there is The Bedford by Martha Stewart. And for those of you who are curious, yes, it’s named after her hometown of nearby Bedford, New York.

The first interesting dish they have is a House-Made Bread Basket with Garden Vegetable Crisps, Sour Cherry-Rosemary Focaccia and Warm Parker House Rolls, and Vermont Creamery Butter.

The next dish they have is Pierogis with Potato Filling and Brown Butter.

The next dish they have is Crab Cakes with Jumbo Lump Crab, Roasted Yellow Peppers, and Celeriac Slaw.

The next dish they have is Coquilles Saint-Jacques, which translates to “Great Scallops,” and consists of Bay Scallop Gratin, Celery, Carrot, White Wine, Mornay, and Aged Grana Padano Cheese.

The next dish they have is Corn Jalapeno Fritters with Sea Salt and Honey.

The next dish they have is a Big Turkey Meatball with Ground Turkey, Red Sauce, Red Pepper Relish, Parmesan Reggiano, and Rustic Tartine, which is an Open-Faced Sandwich.

The next dish they have is a Roasted Cauliflower Steak with Whipped Ricotta, Pine Nuts, Golden Raisins, Chili Flakes, Wildflower Honey, and Lemon Zest.

The next dish they have is New England Clam Chowder with Oyster Crackers.

The next dish they have is Spaghetti & Meatballs, which comes with basically the same ingredients as the Big Turkey Meatball I wrote about above.

The next dish they have is Halibut with Corn & Clam Chowder, Carrots, Celery, Onions, Potatoes, Heirloom Tomatoes, and Basil.

The next dish they have is Scallop Risotto with Lemon Risotto, Pan Seared Sea Scallops, and Caramelized Fennel.

The next dish they have is Filet Mignon with Braised Leek, Watercress, and Bearnaise Sauce.

The next dish they have is New York Strip Steak with Braised Leek, Watercress, and Bordelaise Sauce.

The next dish they have is Pork Chop with Pink Applesauce, Braised Cippolini Onions, and Crispy Parmesan Potatoes.

The next dish they have is Chicken Parmesan.

The next dish they have is Upside Down Lemon Meringue Pie with Baked Meringue, Lemon Curd, and Whipped Cream. 

The next dish they have is Creme Brulee with Fresh Berries and Whipped Cream.

The last dish they have is Mile High Chocolate Cake with Devil’s Food Cake, Milk Chocolate Frosting, and Whipped Cream.

The next restaurant here that I am going to talk about is Cedars Steaks & Oysters.

The first interesting dish they have is Lump Crab Cakes with Pickled Fennel Slaw and Mustard Remoulade.

The next dish they have is Meatballs with a Beef & Pork Blend, Stewed Tomatoes, Ricotta, and Gremolata.

The next dish they have is Fried Calamari with Marinara Sauce and Lemon Caper Aioli.

The next dish they have is Fried Green Tomato with Mortadella, Pimento Cheese, and Red Onion Relish. For those of you wondering what Mortadella is, it’s an Italian Cured Pork Sausage.

The next dish they have is Lobster Bisque with Sherry Wine, Brown Butter, and Creme Fraiche.

The next dish they have is New England Clam Chowder with Chopped Clams, Smoked Bacon, Russet Potatoes, and Oyster Crackers.

The next dish they have is French Onion Soup with Caramelized Onions, Beef Jus, and Gruyere Cheese.

The next dish they have is Beef Short Ribs with Potato Puree, Roasted Baby Carrots, Brussels Sprouts, and Natural Jus.

The next dish they have is Potato Crusted Flounder with Creamed Leeks, Red Wine Mustard Jus, and Sea Bean Salad.

The next dish they have is Pork Shank Osso Bucco with Cauliflower Puree, Roasted Carrots, and Popped Sorghum Glaze.

The next dish they have is Day Boat Scallops with Truffled Lobster Risotto, Smoked Pork Belly, and Parmesan.

The next dish they have is Surf & Turf with Filet Mignon, Butter Poached Lobster Tail, Asparagus, Potato Puree, and Bearnaise Sauce.

The next dish they have is called Fruit Fiesta, and it consists of Fresh Berries, White Chocolate Mousse, and Almond Tuile Shell.

The next dish they have is Gooey Butter Cake with Cherry Sauce and Creme Fraiche.

The next dish they have is Vanilla Creme Brûlée with Whipped Cream and Berries.

The next dish they have is called a Chambord, and it consists of Cocoa Nib Brownie, Red Fruit Compote, Dark Chocolate Whipped Ganache, and Chocolate Almond Glaze.

The last dish they have is Strawberry Shortcake with Vanilla Sponge Cake, Fresh Strawberries, Whipped Cream, and Strawberry Sauce.

The next restaurant that I am going to talk about is DraftKings Sports Bar & Restaurant.

The first interesting dish they have is Queso Fundido with Crispy Tortillas and Hatch Chile Cheese Dip. 

The next dish they have is Onion Rings with Sriracha Ranch. 

The next dish they have is Jalapeno Poppers filled with Cream Cheese and served with Red Pepper Jelly.

The next dish they have is DK Shrimp with Bang Bang Sauce, Jalapeños, Scallions, and Fried Garlic.

The next dish they have is Pretzel Sticks with Mustard Cheese Sauce.

The next dish they have is Buffalo Chicken Quesadilla with Blue Cheese Crumbles, Buffalo Sauce, Jalapeños, and Tomato.

The next dish they have is Beer Battered Crispy Chicken Tenders with Honey Mustard Sauce.

The next dish they have is an Italian Grinder with Capicola, Ham, Salami, Provolone, Lettuce, Tomato, Roasted Peppers, and Basil Aioli. And for those of you who don’t know what Capicola is, it’s Italian Dry-Cured Pork Salume.

The next dish they have is a Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich with Fried Chicken Breast, Blue Cheese Coleslaw, Tomato, Red Onion, and Butter Pickles.

The next dish they have is Shrimp Tacos with Jalapeno Chimichurri Slaw, Cilantro, Pickled Onions, and Sriracha Aioli.

The next dish they have is Churros that are Stuffed with Dulce De Leche and Dusted with Spiced Sugar.

The next dish they have is a Mason Jar Key Lime Pie with Butter Crumb Crust and Key Lime Custard.

The next dish they have is a Mason Jar Cheesecake with Graham Cracker Crust and Vanilla Pineapple Compote.

The last dish they have is called Brownie Overload, and it consists of Chocolate Brownie, Oreo Cookie Crunch, Candied Pecans, Salted Caramel, and Chocolate Sauce.

The next restaurant that I am going to talk about is an Asian restaurant called Golden Dragon. 

The first interesting dish they have is Crab Rangoons that are filled with Crabmeat, Onions, and Cream Cheese.

The next dish they have is Potstickers filled with Minced Pork and Cabbage.

The next dish they have is Vegetable Spring Rolls filled with Cabbage, Celery, Carrots, and Bean Threads, and served with Hot Mustard & Duck Sauce.

The next dish they have is Fried Shrimp with Sriracha Mayonnaise, Togarashi, and Scallions.

The next dish they have is Egg Drop Soup with Egg, Scallions, and Chicken Broth.

The next dish they have is Hong Kong-Style Wonton Soup with Pork & Shrimp Dumplings and Chicken Broth.

The next dish they have is Chinese Style Oxtail Soup with Oxtail, Fresh Tomato, Potato, Celery, and Beef Broth.

The next dish they have is Hot & Sour Soup with Shredded Pork, Tofu, Bamboo Shoots, Wood Ear Mushrooms, and Egg.

The next dish they have is Beef Pho with Shaved Beef Ribeye, Thai Basil, Bean Sprouts, Lime, Fresh Cilantro, and Jalapeno. 

The next dish they have is Lobster Fried Rice with Lobster Meat, Fried Egg, Peas, and Scallions.

The last dish they have is Beef Stir Fry with Sliced Flank Steak, Baby Corn, Broccoli, Bok Choy, Celery, and Carrots.

The next restaurant that I am going to talk about is an Italian restaurant called Alta Strada.

The first interesting dish they have is Garlic Bread with Tomato Basil Dipping Sauce.

The next dish they have is Meatballs with Tomato Basil Sauce, Ricotta, and Parmesan.

The next restaurant that I am going to talk about is Hard Rock Cafe.

The first interesting dish they have is a Legendary Steak Burger with Applewood Bacon, Cheddar, Onion Ring, Lettuce, Tomato, and Toasted Artisan Bun.

The next dish they have is a Classic Smashed Burger with Two Smashed Burgers, Shaved Yellow Onions, American Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Legendary Sauce, which is a Tangy Barbecue Sauce, Pickles, and Toasted Artisan Bun.

The next dish they have is Margherita Flatbread with Mozzarella, Provolone, Romano, Basil, Roma Tomatoes, and Cilantro Pesto.

The next dish they have is House Breaded Chicken Tenders with Dipping Sauces.

The next dish they have is Crispy Shrimp with Creamy Spicy Sauce, Spicy Coleslaw, and Green Onions.

The next dish they have is Hot Fudge Brownie with Warm Chocolate Brownie, Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, Hot Fudge, Chocolate Sprinkles, Whipped Cream, and Cherry.

The last dish they have is Homemade Apple Cobbler with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream and Caramel Sauce.

The next restaurant that I am going to talk about is one that is currently temporarily closed: David Burke Prime.

The first interesting dish they have is Beer Battered Onion Rings served on a Branding Iron with Smoked Barbecue Aioli. 

The next dish they have is Fried Calamari with Cherry Peppers, Lemon, Pomodoro, and Garlic Aioli.

The next dish they have is Thick-Cut Candied Bacon with Black Pepper Maple Glaze.

The next dish they have is Imported Burrata & Prosciutto with Roasted Tomato, Garlic Crostini, Figs, and Basil Pistou.

The next dish they have is Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes with Jalapeno-Citrus Tartar Sauce and Apple Fennel Salad.

The next dish they have is Baked Clams Casino with Herb Butter, Bacon, and Herb Crumbs.

The next restaurant that I am going to talk about is Guy Fieri’s Kitchen & Bar.

The first interesting dish they have is a Smothered Dragon Chili Crock, and it consists of Low And Slow Cooked Beef & Pork Chili Topped with Melted Cheddar Cheese, Sweet Cornbread, Sour Cream, and Scallions.

The next dish they have is Buffalo Chicken Egg Rolls with Shredded Chicken, Buffalo Sauce, Cheddar Cheese, and Blue-Sabi Dipping Sauce, which is a sauce that combines Blue Cheese and Wasabi.

The next dish they have is Garlic Fries with Smokehouse Seasoning, Roasted Garlic, Garlic Butter, Chopped Parsley, and Donkey Sauce, which is a Creamy Garlic Aioli.

The next dish they have is Buffalo Cauliflower that is Crispy Fried and Tossed with Buffalo Sauce, and served with Blue-Sabi Dipping Sauce and Raw Vegetable Medley.

The next dish they have is a Bacon Macaroni & Cheese Burger with Grilled Smash Patty, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Macaroni & Cheese, Crispy Onion Straws, Lettuce, Tomato, Onions, Pickles, Donkey Sauce, and a Garlic Buttered Brioche Bun. 

The next dish they have is American Style Kobe Beef Burger with Caramelized Onion Jam, Smoked Gouda, Yellow Cheddar, Parmesan, Crispy Onion Straws, Pickles, Donkey Sauce, and Garlic Buttered Brioche Bun.

The next dish they have is Seven Layer Chocolate Cake with Whiskey Creme Anglaise, Caramel, and Toffee Bar Crumble.

The next dish they have is a Big Brookie that is Half Brownie and Half Chocolate Chip Cookie, Served Warm, and is Topped with Vanilla Ice Cream, Whipped Cream, and Caramel.

The last restaurant that I am going to talk about here is Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen. Yes. That’s right. Not only do Martha Stewart and Guy Fieri have restaurants here, so does Gordon Ramsay. And here’s an additional fun fact for all of you reading: The last two seasons of Hell’s Kitchen were actually filmed here at Foxwoods. And not only that, there are possibly two more seasons that will be filming this year, and they are currently looking for guests at dinner service, and you can currently apply to be a diner there, but only if you are from Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New York. The reason why I say possibly two seasons this year is because while there is definitely going to be one season filmed, they have filmed seasons two in a row and one right after the other for years now, so I don’t see why this would be any different. Also, I don’t know if I will ever do write-ups of Hell’s Kitchen episodes. Maybe I will, maybe I won’t.

The first interesting dish they have is Pan Seared Scallops with Celery Root Puree, Braised Bacon, Pickled Granny Smith Apple, and Chives.

The next dish they have is Lobster Risotto with Butter Poached Lobster Tail, Truffle, Crispy Onions, and Fried Parsley.

The next dish they have is Lobster Arancini with Lemon Aioli, Chimichurri, Parmesan, and Fried Parsley.

The next dish they have is Filet Mignon with Confit Cippolini Onion, Roasted Garlic Butter, and Truffle Chicken Jus.

The next dish they have is Bone In Ribeye with Roasted Garlic, Glazed Maitake Mushrooms, and Peppercorn Sauce.

The next dish they have is the Hell’s Kitchen Burger with Applewood Smoked Bacon, Ghost Pepper Jack Cheese, Fresno Chili Jam, Mashed Avocado, Crispy Onions, Tomato, and Spicy Aioli.

The next dish they have is a Crab Roll with Mashed Avocado, Aji Amarillo, and Pickled Fresno.

The next dish they have is called Idiot Sandwich, because of course it is, and it consists of Sourdough, Braised Short Rib, Gruyere, Cheddar, Roasted Mushrooms, and Spicy Tomato Chutney.

The next dish they have is Sticky Toffee Pudding with English Toffee Sauce and Dulce De Leche Ice Cream. 

The next dish they have is Oreo Salted Caramel Cake with Chocolate Ganache and Chantilly Cream.

The last dish they have is Poached Pear Mascarpone Cheesecake with Blackcurrant Port Sauce and Orange Streusel.

So, yeah. That’s all the restaurants that I felt were worth mentioning in this blog post. Seeing how I have a lot of time before I have to get started on the next one, I am now going to go over some of the upcoming shows here!

The first show they have coming up on May 9 and 10 is The Price Is Right Live, which is for all you fans of game shows where all you have to say is numbers, and want to be a part of the action, but they are worried about being on television, so they are willing to take part in a scaled down version with presumably less money and no Drew Carey.

The next show they have on May 15 is some comedian named Dave Attell, and all I know about him is that the promotional photo they used for him is him with a cigarette, which tells me what type of comedian he is.

The next show they have on May 16 is Larry The Cable Guy, who some of you might know as a member of The Blue Collar Comedy Tour, and some of you might know as the voice of Mater from Cars, and I know as one of the weirdest contestants ever on The Masked Singer.

The next show they have on May 22 is a double header with blues guitarists Christone “Kingfish” Ingram and Samantha Fish, and I can’t help but feel that part of the reason they are performing together is because of their names.

The next show they have on May 23 is SNL cast member and comedian Marcello Hernandez.

The next show they have on May 23 is some comedian named Becky Robinson.

The next show they have on May 30 is some country singer named Gary Allan.

The next show they have on June 4 is American Idol winner Scotty McCreery, who will definitely be on The Masked Singer someday.

The next show they have on June 5 is Jason Mraz, who will also definitely be on The Masked Singer someday.

The next show they have on June 12 is Kiefer Sutherland, an actor who is also surprisingly a great singer, which also makes him a perfect candidate for The Masked Singer.

The next show they have on June 13 is 80s new wave band DEVO, who are famous for the song Whip It, and they also have other songs called Jocko Homo, Be Stiff, I Can’t Get No Satisfaction, and Jerkin’ Back ’n’ Forth, which really makes me wonder what were they thinking of.

The next show they have on June 20 is some country singer named Jo Dee Messina, who will probably be on The Masked Singer someday.

The next show they have on July 10 is Robert Davi, an actor who does Frank Sinatra tribute performances, which means that he will probably be on The Masked Singer someday. For anyone who wants to go this show, I should warn you that he leans a certain way politically, so be ready for if things get political.

The next show they have on July 10 is Seth Meyers. I don’t have comments for everyone, so this one ends here.

The next show they have on July 12 is rap group Cypress Hill, who are famous for the song Insane In The Brain, which is another group that I feel could be on The Masked Singer.

The next show they have on July 18 is Jerry Seinfeld, who I think does one show there every year.

The next show they have on July 24 is Billy Ray Cyrus, and I am just going to say this right now: Don’t go and see this show, no matter how much you love Miley Cyrus. His singing voice is just GONE, though I’m never really sure if he ever had it. And if you’re thinking that I’m exaggerating, I saw his inauguration performance, he was on the most recent season of The Masked Singer, and he has been giving performances on daytime shows recently, and he was dreadful on all of them. If you want to buy tickets to this show, DON’T. If your friend invites you to see this show, turn them down, and encourage them not to go. If your friend invites you and has already purchased the tickets, still turn down the offer, and make fun of them for wasting their money. If you are a fan of Billy Ray Cyrus, why? I mean, he is basically a one hit wonder, and I don’t think anybody can even name a single other song of his. And let’s be honest, whenever you go to see an artist who is a one hit wonder, you’re only going because you want to hear that one song, and you’re going to be completely lost on all the other songs. If you REALLY are THAT BIG a fan of Billy Ray Cyrus and need to hear him sing Achy Breaky Heart, here’s what you should do. If he opens the show with it, listen to it, and then leave immediately afterwards. If he performs it in the middle of the show, try to stay awake in time for what you came for, and then leave immediately afterwards before the rest of the show starts. If it’s the final song of the whole show, congratulations, you just wasted an entire night where you could have done anything else. You could have gone to a Gordon Ramsay restaurant, a Martha Stewart restaurant, a Guy Fieri restaurant, or gone to the massive Tanger Outlets here, but no, you chose your insane love of Achy Breaky Heart over doing something that would have been fun.

The next show they have on August 14 and 15 is comedian Nikki Glaser, one of the few celebrities whose career got bigger AFTER being on The Masked Singer.

The next show they have on September 6 is comedian Gabriel Iglesias.

The next show they have on September 25 is one of the most famous double headers of touring comedians: Steve Martin and Martin Short. Side note, Martin Short was named the new host of Match Game on ABC last year, and if they don’t bring it back this summer, which it certainly looks like they won’t, then I will be very upset, and it will be proof that ABC is allergic to good ideas.

The next show they have on November 6 is one of the biggest comedians currently: John Mulaney.

The next show they have on November 20 is Geoff Tate, the former lead singer of Queensryche, and just like me, I am positive that all of you reading have no idea who either of them are.

The last show they have on November 21 is some comedian named Jo Koy, who I am familiar with from his game show appearances, but not Match Game, which SHOULD COME BACK IF YOU ARE SMART, ABC. 

Overall, this is truly a fascinating place, and after writing about it, I might want to check it out for myself! And I hope that what I have written encourages all of you reading to check it out as well!
