Tourist Attractions In Fairfield County

Image
Hello everyone! Let’s talk about some tourist attractions in Fairfield County in Connecticut today! As always, my point in writing about these places is that any or all of them are intriguing to all of you reading, enough that you will want to check them out. The first tourist attraction is The Arthur A Harris Linear Park in Brookfield, which is a multi-use trail along the Still River. The next tourist attraction is what used to be The Ballpark at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport, but has since been turned into a place that I have talked about several times already, The Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater. The next tourist attraction is the Bowman Observatory in Greenwich, which features a telescope. The next tourist attraction is the Bridgeport Islanders, which is the American Hockey League affiliate of the New York Islanders, and plays at the Total Mortgage Arena. The next tourist attraction is The Bronson Windmill, which is a historic windmill in Fairfield. The next tourist attraction is Broo...

Upcoming Shows In The Area

Image
Hello everyone! It’s been a while since I talked about upcoming shows in the area, so let’s change that today! To keep this easy for myself, I am only going to be focusing on venues in Westchester County and Fairfield County, as those are the ones closest to me, and as always, my purpose in writing this is that any or all of the shows that I mention sound intriguing to all of you reading, and you want to check them out. Let’s start off in Peekskill at the Paramount Hudson Valley Theater! The first show they have coming up is on March 28, and it is Joan Osborne singing the songs of Bob Dylan. For those of you who don’t know who Joan Osborne is, she is the person who sings the song What If God Was One Of Us. The next show they have on April 9 is southern rock band The Outlaws, who are famous for the song Green Grass And High Tides. The next show they have on April 10 is An Evening with author, comedian, and humorist David Sedaris, who will also be giving a book signing in the lobby befor...

Historic Places In Westchester County

Image
Hello everyone! As all of you reading are aware, I live in Westchester County, and like every other place in the state of New York, it has many places that have been registered as historic places by the state of New York, and today, I am going to talk about them!  If you’re wondering how this will work, I will be going over each place, and giving a quick synopsis of each of them, and hopefully by the end of this blog post, all of you reading will be intrigued to check any or all of them out. The first place on the registry is the Armour-Stiner House in Irvington, which is an octagon shaped Victorian style house that is open for guided tours by appointment. The next place on the registry is the Bear Mountain Bridge, which is a toll suspension bridge that goes across the Hudson River and connects Bear Mountain State Park in Orange County and Cortlandt in Westchester County. At the time that this bridge was completed in 1924, it was the longest suspension bridge in the world, a title ...

Restaurants In The Area From Top Chef Contestants

Image
Hello everybody!  Here’s something that a lot of you might not have known about me: I’m a big fan of the cooking competition series Top Chef! And we are also a week and a day away from the new season premiering on March 9, so I figured I would honor the show in some way, and I feel that the best way to do that is by writing about restaurants from past contestants. Yes, that’s right. I am going to be writing about restaurants again. I am not going to be talking about all of them, as that would just be way too much for me to write about, so I am instead going to focus on restaurants in Connecticut and New York, as those are the ones closest to me and most of you reading. As always, my purpose in writing about these restaurants is that any or all of them sound interesting to all of you reading, and it encourages you to go check them out. We will start off in Connecticut! The first restaurant that I am going to talk about is an interesting one, BarVera Mediterranean Restaurant in Stamf...
