Upcoming Shows In The Area

Hello everyone!

It’s been a while since I talked about upcoming shows in the area, so let’s change that today!

To keep this easy for myself, I am only going to be focusing on venues in Westchester County and Fairfield County, as those are the ones closest to me, and as always, my purpose in writing this is that any or all of the shows that I mention sound intriguing to all of you reading, and you want to check them out.

Let’s start off in Peekskill at the Paramount Hudson Valley Theater!

The first show they have coming up is on March 28, and it is Joan Osborne singing the songs of Bob Dylan. For those of you who don’t know who Joan Osborne is, she is the person who sings the song What If God Was One Of Us.

The next show they have on April 9 is southern rock band The Outlaws, who are famous for the song Green Grass And High Tides.

The next show they have on April 10 is An Evening with author, comedian, and humorist David Sedaris, who will also be giving a book signing in the lobby before and after the event.

The next show they have on April 18 is Broadway legend Audra McDonald.

The next show they have on April 30 is comedian Adam Ray, who is famous for being part of the podcast Kill Tony and for doing shows where he pretends to be Dr Phil.

The next show they have on May 1 is comedian Billy Gardell. For those of you who don’t know who that is, which I imagine is every one of you reading, he starred in the shows Mike & Molly and Bob Hearts Abishola, and if you are not familiar with either of those shows, that’s okay, nobody else on earth is.

The next show they have on May 9 is a performance from alternative/indie singer and songwriter Ben Folds.

The next show they have on May 29 is legendary music duo The Righteous Brothers, who are currently on their farewell tour.

The next show they have on May 30 is Broadway and TV legend Darren Criss.

The next show they have on June 5 is comedian Tig Notaro.

The next show they have on June 12 is Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, which is the greatest name for a band ever.

The last show they have on November 12 is Big Head Todd And The Monsters, which was actually originally scheduled for February 22, but as my dad said, they were unable to accommodate the building for his large head, and they have delayed it for as long as they have, as that’s when the accommodations will be finished.

Let’s head over to the Tarrytown Music Hall now!

The first interesting show they have scheduled on April 8 is from legendary singer and musician Graham Nash.

The next show they have scheduled on April 18 is Micky Dolenz from The Monkees.

The next show they have scheduled on May 1 is comedian and host Craig Ferguson, which I feel is something that my mom NEEDS to see because of how much she loves him.

The next show they have scheduled on May 2 is comedian and actor Andrew Dice Clay, who is one of the most beloved comedians of all time and is definitely not problematic at all.

The next show they have scheduled on May 15 is some rock band called Queensryche, who I know absolutely nothing about, but because they are a rock band, I feel obligated to mention them.

The last show they have scheduled on June 25 is comedian and actor Patton Oswalt.

Let’s now head over to District Music Hall in Norwalk!

They don’t have as many exciting shows coming up, and they also are both going to have The Outlaws and Ben Folds, but they have some shows that I feel are worth highlighting.

The first interesting show they have scheduled on April 3 is Ghostface Killah from Wu-Tang Clan.

The next show they have scheduled on April 24 is comedian, podcast host, writer, and television host Jared Fried, who I have never heard of, but since he is going on a tour that has a name, The Table For One Tour, I feel that makes him a big deal.

The last show they have scheduled on April 25 is a double header with comedians Trevor Wallace and Michael Blaustein.

The next show they have on April 10 is actor and comedian Hannibal Buress.

The next show they have on April 11 is comedian Atsuko Okastuka, but unfortunately, if this show sounds interesting to all of you reading, the only way you can see it is if you already got tickets, as this show is sold out.

The next show they have on April 12 is Al Jardine from The Beach Boys with The Pet Sounds Band.

The next show they have on April 14 is Melissa Etheridge.

The next show they have on April 17 and April 19 is Jon Anderson from Yes and The Band Geeks.

The next show they have on June 19 is comedian Demetri Martin.

The next show they have on June 20 is comedian, actor, and podcast host Marc Maron.

The next show they have on June 24 is pop group Fitz And The Tantrums.

The next show they have on June 30 is legendary rock band Three Dog Night. Okay, I need to bring up a super relevant joke from a recent episode of Family Guy right now. One of the characters said that they had an extra ticket to see Three Dog Night, which had none of the original members, and none of the original fake members. So naturally, I had to see how much truth there was to this statement, and the answer is… a shocking amount of truth, as there is only one remaining original member still touring, the other original member still part of the group no longer tours, and the other members in the band joined AFTER they reformed in 1981, with two becoming permanent members in the 90s, one joining in 2015, one joining in 2017, and one joining in 2021. So, in a way, Family Guy made a joke that is actually not only true, but is continuing to be true.

Now let’s get in that car and drive over to the Sacred Heart University Community Theater in Fairfield!

The next show they have on July 25 is another country music triple header with Billy Currington, Kip Moore, and Kenny Whitmire.

The next show they have on September 1 is Alabama Shakes with Hannah Cohen, and know absolutely nothing about either one of them.

The next show they have is a two night residency on September 4 and September 5 from a band that seems to have made a career out of doing residencies at venues, Tedeschi Trucks Band with special guest Sheryl Crow.

The next show they have on September 9 is one of the best double headers of rock legends I have ever seen: John Fogerty and Steve Winwood.

The next show they have on September 20 is another triple header with rock band O.A.R., Gavin DeGraw, and KT Tunstall.

The last concert they have on October 9 is some artist named Freya Skye.

Let’s now backtrack a little bit for our final stop, The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester!

The first show they have on March 28 is the greatest pop duo of the 2000s, and I feel comfortable calling them that because one of them was on The Masked Singer and they performed in Stamford last summer, Aly & AJ with some special guest named Hayden Blount.

The next show they have on April 4 is Diana Krall, a singer that my parents are familiar with, but I know nothing about.

The next show they have on April 26 is blues rock singer John Butler.

The next show they have on May 1 is rock band George Thorogood & The Destroyers, who are famous for the song Bad To The Bone, which I am positive almost all of you reading are familiar with. Even if you don’t know the exact name of the song, you definitely know that VERY recognizable guitar intro.

The next show they have on May 2 is 80s tribute band Jessie’s Girl.

The next show they have on May 3 is a double header comedy show with comedians and Daily Show personalities Hasan Minhaj and Ronny Chieng.

The next show they have on May 4 is a performance of the musical Bat Out Of Hell, which is based on the music of rock singer Meat Loaf, which should be enough to turn everybody away, but if that’s your thing, then you do you.

The next show they have on May 31 is comedian Brad Williams, who has achondroplasia, which is a type of dwarfism, and he will be there as part of his Tall Tales Tour, which is ironic and therefore funny.

The next show they have on June 3 is David Lee Roth from Van Halen, and while I will admit that he is an iconic singer from an iconic band, you should not spend your money on this show, as his singing voice, if he ever really had one, is GONE.

The next show they have on June 4 is Chelsea Handler.

The next show they have on June 5 is country singer Ryan Bingham, who I had never heard of before writing this, and somehow he has won so many awards including an Academy Award.

The next show they have on June 9 is legendary new wave band Devo, who are famous for their song Whip It, and they also have a lot of other songs that have very suggestive sounding names. The next show they have on June 12 is singer and guitarist Gary Clark Jr with Nat Myers.

The next show they have on June 13 is folk rock duo Indigo Girls, which is a group that I first learned about last year from an episode of Match Game.

The next show they have on June 14 is Theresa Caputo, who is The Long Island Medium.

The next show they have on June 20 is The Fab Faux, which is a Beatles tribute band.

The next show they have on June 22 is comedian Daniel Tosh. You know, the guy who had that show on Comedy Central, Tosh.0, which nobody remembers or talks about anymore? He will be there as part of his “First Farewell Tour,” which is a nice dig at those singers who announce they are going on their farewell tour, only to announce that it actually wasn’t.

The next show they have on June 23 and June 24 is an acoustic show from Trey Anastasio from Phish.

The next show they have on July 3 is a Fleetwood Mac tribute band called Rumours ATL.
