Stamford Downtown Winter Restaurant Weeks

As many of you have probably noticed, I have been writing about a lot of restaurants lately, and there is a reason for it, I like seeing what foods I can get at nearby restaurants, seeing if there is anything that sounds intriguing to me, and I also hope that what sounds intriguing to me is also intriguing to you. I am going to write about certain restaurants again today, but this time it’s going to be restaurants that are participating in the Stamford Downtown Winter Restaurant Weeks. I will talk about each restaurant that is participating and sharing some food from their menus in hopes that it will encourage all of you reading to check them out.

The first restaurant that is participating is a Peruvian restaurant called Aquario. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include steamed potatoes with feta cheese sauce, tamales, tostones, scallops, fish fritters, fried calamari, seafood bouillabaisse, vegetable soup, fish soup with vegetables, seafood soup, chicken and rice, Peruvian style fried rice, Peruvian paellas, breaded shrimp, New York strip, skirt steak, braised beef with rice and beans, chicken Milanese, beef Milanese, linguine in a lo mein style with a Peruvian style, and beef or chicken saltado.

The next restaurant that is participating is an American restaurant called The Americano. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include French onion soup, rock shrimp bao buns, sweet chili dumplings, gnocchi, truffle arancini, truffle fries, rigatoni bolognese, burrata ravioli, pork scarpariello, chicken Milanese, chicken parmesan, porterhouse steak, filet mignon, steak frites, hanger steak, fish and chips, baha fish tacos, an American classic burger, steak sandwich, Nashville hot chicken sandwich, and ricotta cheesecake brûlée. 

The next restaurant that is participating is one that I have been to before, an Italian restaurant called Bar Rosso. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include fried calamari, veal meatballs with parmesan, tacos with braised short ribs, fried zucchini, grilled lamb chops, arancini, fried mushrooms, fritto misto, which is fried calamari, shrimp, octopus, and zucchini, gnocchi, penne with pesto, tortellini, lobster and shrimp ravioli, penne vodka, Margherita pizza, New York strip, braised short ribs, a burger, chicken scarpariello, chicken parmesan, chicken involtini, short rib panini, chicken parmesan panini, tiramisu, zeppoles, bread pudding, Nutella pizza, crepes, and creme brulee.

The next restaurant that is participating is a Spanish restaurant called Barcelona Wine Bar. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include eggplant caponata, mushroom croquettes, roasted cauliflower, potato tortilla, patatas bravas, crispy calamari, chicken paillard, ham and manchego croquettes, albondigas, which are meatballs, spiced beef empanadas, wagyu steak, several different paellas, flan Catalan, chocolate cake, Basque burnt cheesecake, and ice cream.

The next restaurant that is participating is an Italian restaurant called Bari167. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include arancini, garlic knots, fried calamari, baked and stuffed portobello, fried mozzarella, chicken tenders, crispy Italian dough pocket with fresh mozzarella and tomato sauce, minestrone, pasta fagioli, prosciutto and mozzarella panini, oven baked calzone, a variety of Strombolis, Margherita pizza, fried pizza, meatball parmesan wedge, eggplant parmesan wedge, chicken parmesan wedge, steak sandwich, rigatoni, gnocchi, ravioli, orecchiette, cavatelli, penne vodka, baked ziti, meat lasagna, eggplant rollatini, chicken rollatini, chicken scarpariello, veal parmesan, vegetable risotto, risotto Adriatico, zeppole, tartufo, tiramisu, brownie, cheesecake, lobster tail, sfogliatelle, and panzerotti.

The next restaurant that is participating is Bartaco. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include Baja fish tacos, sesame ribeye tacos, pistachio cauliflower tacos, chips and guacamole, fried plantains, chicken tortilla soup, Korean barbecue ribeye rice bowl, Mediterranean cauliflower rice bowl, churros with chocolate sauce, tres leches cake, and key lime pie in a jar. 

The next restaurant that is participating is a bar and grill called Bedford Hall. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include three cheese macaroni and cheese, colossal meatball, broccoli and cheddar cheese bites, onion soup, hummus and flatbread, tortilla soup, street corn dip, corn and crab hushpuppies, General Tso’s calamari, Korean short rib tacos, a pretzel, crab Mac & cheese, tempura rock shrimp, Margherita pizza, rigatoni, braised beef short ribs, fish and chips, steak frites, kung pao cauliflower, craft burger, Cuban sandwich, fried chicken sandwich, fish tacos, French dip, a dessert called cookie smash that consists of vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce, and crushed peanuts, raspberry cheesecake, and peach cobbler.

The next restaurant that is participating is a steakhouse called Blackstone’s. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include New England clam chowder, stuffed rice balls, French onion soup, lobster bisque, lemon pepper shrimp, crab cakes, fried calamari, a variety of cuts of steak, veal chop, braised beef short ribs, prime rib, chicken parmesan, egg battered chicken with parmesan cheese and lemon beurre blanc, gnocchi bolognese, lobster ravioli, regular macaroni and cheese and truffle lobster macaroni and cheese, carrot cake, cheesecake, lava cake, key lime pie, creme brulee, tartufo, tiramisu, chocolate brownie, banana foster bread pudding, and chocolate mousse cake.

The next restaurant that is participating is an Italian restaurant called Capriccio. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include pasta fagioli, tomato basil soup, truffle fries, grilled vegetable stack, meatballs, eggplant parmesan, potato croquettes, zucchini chips, fried calamari, crab cakes, short ribs risotto, Margherita pizza, Cuban panini, superbo panini, lasagna, rigatoni alla vodka, spinach ricotta ravioli, gnocchi caprese, seafood risotto, chicken parmesan, beef short ribs, cioppino, New York strip steak, cannoli, mixed berry cake, lemon tart, chocolate flourless cake, crepes of dulce de leche and Nutella, tiramisu, and chocolate soufflé. 
The next restaurant that is participating is a French restaurant that my dad wants to go to called Chez Vous Bistro. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include the soup of the day, two-stock onion soup, parmesan risotto croquettes, a burger, wild mushroom risotto, French shepherd’s pie, beef bourguignon, grilled chicken paillard, New York steak au poivre, radiatore alla putanesca, flatiron steak a la bordelaise, warm granny apple tart a la mode, crepes suzette, creme brulee, and dark chocolate mousse. 

The next restaurant that is participating is an Albanian restaurant called Cka Ka Qellu. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include pepper dip, sausage dip, feta cheese, baked cheese, the soup of the day, fli, which are layers of crepe-like baked savory, mantia, which are veal stuffed dumplings, lecenik, which is cornbread with spinach and cottage cheese, stuffed peppers, sausage tava, tava kosi, which is lamb and rice baked with a mixture of yogurt and eggs added to a roux, kacamak, which is cream with polenta, grilled chicken, lamb meat, veal meat, ribeye steak, and baklava.

The next restaurant that is participating is an Italian restaurant called Columbus Park Trattoria. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include pizza semplice, fried zucchini, fried calamari, homemade sausage, mushroom crepes, cavatelli, ravioli, rigatoni, penne, chicken scarpariello, veal sorrentino, breaded veal cutlets, veal ossobuco, New York strip, lamb chops, tiramisu, creme brulee, lemon custard pie, tartufo, bread pudding, chocolate mousse, filled ricotta donuts, cheesecake, and truffles.

The next restaurant that is participating is another Italian restaurant called Divina. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include arancini, fried calamari, croquettes, gnocchi, skillet meatballs, pork ravioli, Nashville hot fried chicken, Margherita pizza, chicken parmesan, ribeye steak, steak au Poivre, a burger, chocolate lava cake, hazelnut tiramisu, strawberry cheesecake, brownie sundae, lemon blueberry panna cotta, and hot donuts.

The next restaurant that is participating is a seafood restaurant called Fish. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include lobster and shrimp chowder, fried calamari, truffle fried burrata, lobster macaroni and cheese, Baja fish or shrimp tacos, lobster roll sliders, shrimp tempura, jumbo lump crab cakes, crispy Korean cauliflower, Southwestern crabmeat quesadilla, fried shrimp dumplings, skirt steak sandwich, veggie stir fry bowl, grilled chicken sandwich, burrata burger with fries, stuffed shrimp, bouillabaisse, lobster ravioli, rigatoni carbonara, herb marinated skirt steak, fish and chips, seafood paella, rigatoni al pesto, cheesecake, vanilla bread pudding, key lime pie, chocolate bourbon pecan torte, apple pie empanadas, ice cream, and chocolate lava cake.

Some of the interesting foods on their menu include butternut squash and crab soup, ricotta flatbread, fried shrimp bao buns, bacon macaroni and cheese balls, chicken and lemongrass dumplings, sausage rolls, gnocchi, ravioli, wagyu beef burger, hot honey chicken sandwich, meat pie, chicken parmesan, steak frites, ice cream, and sticky date pudding.

The next restaurant that is participating is an American restaurant called Hudson Social. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include ricotta croquettes, truffled macaroni and cheese, oven roasted cauliflower, spicy tuna baos, birria quesadilla, garlic shrimp, hanger steak, meatballs, southern fried fish tacos, short rib, Nashville hot chicken, crispy fried chicken sandwich, a burger, short rib grilled cheese, lobster frites sandwich, soup of the day, Margherita pizza, New York strip, fish and chips, spicy rigatoni, surf and turf, Basque cheesecake, sticky toffee chocolate cake, chocolate brownie, tiramisu, chocolate lava cake, creme brulee, Nutella pizza, and ice cream.

The next restaurant that is participating is a Japanese restaurant called Kashi. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include short ribs, petite filet mignon, crab cakes, rock shrimp tempura, fried calamari, wasabi sea scallops, pan fried oysters, miso soup, lemongrass hot and sour soup, seafood bisque, tempura shrimp, tempura vegetables, shrimp teriyaki, chicken teriyaki, Angus steak teriyaki, chicken hibachi, shrimp hibachi, Angus steak hibachi, filet mignon hibachi, grilled lobster, cube filet mignon, and surf and turf.

The next restaurant that is participating is another Japanese restaurant called Kotobuki. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include shrimp tempura, vegetable tempura, udon noodles with shrimp and vegetable tempura, seafood skewers, thinly sliced beef, and pork cutlets.

The next restaurant that is participating is a Greek restaurant called Kouzina. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include a Greek spread sampler with pita, rice stuffed grape leaves, crispy calamari, fried zucchini, cheese pie, shrimp, ground beef patties, fried zucchini chips, grilled Greek sausage, pan fried cheese, gyro egg rolls, spanakopita, beef skewers, lamb chops, pastitsio, which from the description seems to be a Greek lasagna, Greek paella, braised lamb shank, mousaka, dessert dough balls, chocolate mousse layer cake, and baklava.

The next restaurant that is participating is a Japanese restaurant called Kyushu Ramen and Sushi. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include vegetable spring rolls, firecracker shrimp, crispy calamari, scallion pancakes, pork dumplings, shrimp shumai, vegetable dumplings, shrimp tempura, steamed bao buns, pork bone broth ramen, chicken broth ramen, seafood broth ramen, vegetable broth ramen, and fried rice.

The next restaurant that is participating is a Korean barbecue restaurant called Love Meat. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include thin sliced brisket, flat iron steak, beef short ribs, ribeye, pork shoulder steak, pork short ribs, chicken breast, teriyaki chicken, New York strip steak, shrimp, bento bibimbap, corn cheese, fried dumplings, French fries, sweet potato fries, mozzarella sticks, pork kimchi stew, beef brisket soybean stew, and seafood soft tofu stew.

The next restaurant that is participating is a deli that also has Japanese food called Maruichi Select. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include chicken curry, gyudon, which is a rice dish that is topped with beef and onions, teishoku, which is a Japanese meal set that includes rice, soup, side dishes, and pickles, and donburi, which is a dish that consists of fish, meat, and vegetables simmered together and served over rice.

The next restaurant that is participating is a Mexican restaurant called Masa Taco Bar. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include chips and salsa, tinga chicken tostada, fish tacos, chicken tortilla soup, cauliflower tacos, New York strip steak carne asada tacos, mushroom tacos, chicken flautas, queso fundido, Oaxaca quesadillas, and churros. 

The next restaurant that is participating is an Asian restaurant called Mecha Noodle Bar. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include shiitake bao buns, coconut shrimp bao buns, Korean fried chicken bao buns, smash burger bao buns, poutine, crab rangoon dip, roasted mushroom dumplings, red oil dumplings, Saigon egg rolls, sweet and sour spareribs, General Tso’s shrimp, beef noodle, kimchi fried rice, beef pho, spicy beef ramen, and vegan ramen.

The next restaurant that is participating is a Korean barbecue restaurant called Ninja Bubble Tea. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include Korean fried chicken, Korean corndogs, spicy rice cakes, kimchi fried rice, bao buns, dumplings, spring rolls, beef banh mi hotdog, ramen soup, pho, bulgogi beef Philly cheese sandwich, steak fries, bulgogi beef banh mi sandwich, bibimbap, which is mixed vegetables and rice, Margherita thin crust pizza, and naan bread.

The next restaurant that is participating is a Colombian restaurant called Noches De Colombia. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include fried smashed plantains that are topped with shrimp, chicken, beef, and guacamole, a cheeseburger, shrimp in garlic butter sauce, fried pork ribs, fried chorizo, fried calamari, steak and cheese sandwich, breaded chicken sandwich, grilled chicken, rice and chicken, breaded pork loin, surf and turf, paella, breaded shrimp, arepas, corn cakes, tres leches cake, flan, brownie, and lava cake.

The next restaurant that is participating is a bubble tea shop called Penny Cha. They offer a variety of drinks including mango fruit tea, strawberry fruit tea, lemonade fruit tea, grapefruit fruit tea, matcha milk tea, original milk tea, Thai milk tea, brown sugar milk tea, taro milk tea, strawberry matcha milk tea, Oreo matcha milk tea, dalgona brown sugar, dulce de leche, dalgona milk tea, premium jasmine tea, premium signature black tea, and pour over coffee.

The next restaurant that is participating is an Italian restaurant called Siena Ristorante. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include grilled Italian sausage, arancini, braised beef top round that is stuffed and served with penne, fried eggplant, beef, veal, and pork meatballs, rigatoni, penne, orecchiette, risotto, ribeye, veal chop Milanese, chicken parmesan, tiramisu, bread pudding, cheesecake, and lemon flavored sponge cake.

The next restaurant that is participating is an Indian restaurant called Taj Indian Cuisine. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include kathi roll, which is a flatbread, mulligatawny soup, vegetable samosas, samosa chaat, tamarind eggplant, garlic flavored cauliflower, dosas, which are crepes, fried calamari, masala crab cakes, vegetable curry, vegetable vindaloo, malai kofta, which are cottage cheese and potato dumplings, chicken tikka, tandoori shrimp, rack of lamb, butter chicken, vegetable fried rice, chicken fried rice, naan bread, cheesecake, and baklava.

Some of the interesting foods on their menu include teff dips that are served with house made injera chips, sambusa, which is fried dough stuffed with meat or vegan ingredients, siga wat and siga aletcha, which are Ethiopian beef stews, dinich wat, which is potatoes and roasted okra, and lamb chunks in an Ethiopian curry stew.

The next restaurant that is participating is a pizza restaurant called Towne Parlor.
