South Norwalk Restaurants



There are many cities in the area that have a lot of cool restaurants, and today I am going to talk about another one, South Norwalk! There are many restaurants here that are worth checking out, and today I am going to talk about them in hopes that it will encourage all of you reading to want to go to them and support them however you can.

The first restaurant is one that is located in Nordstrom at The SoNo Collection called Bazille. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include crab bisque, Roma tomato basil soup, house made soup, French onion soup, cheddar chive biscuits, cilantro lime chicken tacos, crispy calamari, artichoke spinach dip, Margherita pizza, crispy chicken sandwich, French dip sandwich, crab macaroni and cheese, portabella mushroom ravioli, gnocchi with chicken meatballs, halibut and chips, filet mignon, flatiron steak, skirt steak, white chocolate bread pudding, creme brulee, double chocolate brownie sundae, ice cream, and lemon ricotta cookies.

The next restaurant is an Asian restaurant called Chiwa Bistro. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include shrimp tempura, spring rolls, pan fried pork dumplings, scallion pancakes, popcorn chicken, fried crab claws, fried seafood dumpling with cheese, fried chicken cutlet, fried pork chop, miso soup, wonton soup, steamed barbecue pork bun, steamed pork dumplings, shrimp dumplings, mini soup dumplings, siu mai stuffed with pork, shrimp, and crab roe, several different types of ramen and udon, fried rice, stir fry lo mein, stir fry udon, chicken katsu plate, and curry chicken katsu plate.

The next restaurant is a Southern restaurant called Jacob’s Pickles. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include chilled red gazpacho, biscuits and fixins, jalapeño cheddar skillet cornbread, biscuits and gravy, fried pickles, matzo ball soup, hog in a blanket, street corn, slow cooked meatballs, fried chicken and biscuits, macaroni and cheese, fried chicken and toast, bone-in beef rib, ribeye, patty melt smash burger, shrimp tacos, steak barbacoa tacos, meatloaf, pulled pork sandwich, fried catfish, shrimp and grits, and blackened shrimp and penne vodka. 

The next restaurant is one that offers bowling and bocce called Pinstripes. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include cast iron pesto focaccia, crispy calamari, pigs in a blanket, tenderloin sliders, Margherita pizza, bistro burger, spicy crispy chicken sandwich, prime rib dip sandwich, cream of tomato soup, chicken dumpling soup, gnocchi and vodka sauce, lobster macaroni and cheese, filet mignon trio, chicken parmesan, Italian jambalaya, warm brownie and ice cream, cheesecake, cookies and cream ice cream, and a celebration sundae.

The next restaurant is a Chinese restaurant called Uncle Seven. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include vegetarian spring rolls, short rib pancakes, coconut crispy gulf shrimp, hot and sour soup, wonton soup, vegetable dumplings, pork dumplings, chicken dumplings, Sichuan style dumplings, sesame chicken, orange flavor beef, Thai coconut curry casserole, short rib casserole, several different types of lo mein and fried rice, short rib clay pot, barbecue pork, and coconut curry.

The next restaurant is a Mexican restaurant called El Sabor Salvadoreno. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include fried yucca with fried pork belly, fried and sliced green banana with cabbage and sauce on top, chicken tamales, pork tamales, chicken wings and French fries, nachos with steak, beef soup, chicken soup, seafood soup, a variety of steak dishes, a variety of chicken dishes, a variety of fish dishes, grilled steak with fried green bananas, beef tacos, shrimp tacos, and beef quesadillas.

The next restaurant is a Southern restaurant called Greer Southern Table. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include cheese and crackers, brisket egg rolls, honey buffalo cauliflower bites, warm crawfish dip, fried chicken, shrimp and grits, gumbo yaya, roasted cauliflower steak, beef short ribs, ribeye steak, brisket French dip, chocolate mousse, banana pudding, apple cinnamon hand pies a la mode, maple bacon donuts, monkey bread sundae, carrot cake, and brownie sundae.

The next restaurant is one that also has a location I have been to in Westport called Match. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include fries and dip, garlic bread, burrata, wasabi tuna, bacon and mozzarella, calamari, butternut squash ravioli, short rib and oxtail ragu, veal breast, Margherita pizza, Vietnamese chicken noodle soup, wood oven chicken, steak frites, osso buco, braised pork shank, rack of lamb, and a burger. 

The next restaurant is called El Segundo. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include tostones and salsa, birria crunch wrap, poutine, elotes, bacon wrapped beef hot dog, mofongo con chicharron, empanadas, Cuban sandwich, arepas, steak skewers, jerk patties, Philly cheesesteak, fried cheese nuggets, fried chicken sandwich, steak quesadillas, al pastor tacos, birria tacos, shrimp tacos, arancini, salt cod and potato croquettes, souvlaki, hummus with pita chips, pizza rolls, Bavarian pretzels, spanikopita, fish and chips, zucchini sticks, Swedish meatballs, pork schnitzel, bulgogi, banh mi sandwich, pork dumplings, fried noodles, scallion pancakes, crab rangoons, vegetable egg rolls, Philly cheesesteak rolls, corned beef roll, gyro roll, churro sundae swirl, fried Oreos, tiramisu, tres leches cake, cappuccino mousse cake, Japanese fluffy pancakes, Nutella banana stuffed French toast, and Spanish churros.

Some of the interesting foods on their menu include blue crab nachos, spinach and artichoke dip, hot honey calamari, meatballs, stuffed long hots, which consists of Italian sausage, charred garlic, mozzarella, and parmesan, ahi tuna steak, beef short ribs, chicken scarpiello, wagyu meatloaf, a burger, cauliflower steak, beef wellington, filet mignon, New York strip, ribeye steak, porterhouse steak, skirt steak, veal chop, bananas foster cake, chocolate chip cookie sandwich, chocolate truffle bomb, roasted apples topped with rich butter cake, cinnamon sugar crunch, and vanilla ice cream, a sundae, creme brulee, flourless chocolate cake, New York style cheesecake, deep dish key lime pie, berry tart, and Longford’s ice cream trio.

The next restaurant is a Chinese restaurant called Lazy Sister. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include egg rolls, spring rolls, wontons, pan fried dumplings, peking duck buns, soup dumplings, dan dan noodles, cold sesame noodles, beef wrapped scallion pancakes, salt and pepper shrimp, hot and sour soup, egg drop soup, wonton soup, sesame chicken, mu shu pork, crispy beef, beef with broccoli, Mongolian beef, kung pao shrimp with eggplant, honey walnut shrimp, shrimp with garlic sauce, fried rice, lo mein, and Shanghai pan fried noodles.

The next restaurant is an Italian restaurant called SoNo Wood Fired. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include mozzarella sticks, wood fired macaroni and cheese, garlic knots and sauce, fried calamari, wood fired meatballs and burrata, baked brie, Margherita pizza, calzone, braised short ribs, rigatoni alla vodka, chicken parmesan, rigatoni bolognese, wood fired s’mores, Nutella pizza, sorbet, gelato, tiramisu, cannoli, cheesecake, and affogato al cafe.

The next restaurant is called Tablao Wine Bar & Restaurant. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include seafood bisque, patatas bravas, beef and chicken empanadas, Mediterranean crab cakes, grilled shrimp with chickpea puree and vegetable vinaigrette, hanger steak, Spanish stuffed peppers, duck breast, gnocchi bolognese, eggplant Napoleon, mozzarella stuffed squash blossoms, pork medallions, fried calamari, fried artichokes, cheese croquettes, cod fish croquettes, beef medallions, short ribs, loin lamb chops, meatballs, tortilla Espanola, classic paella, seafood paella, seafood piccata with linguini, penne tablao, grilled skirt steak, chicken scarpiello, ribeye steak, New York strip steak, and osso buco.

The next restaurant is a Peruvian restaurant called Micaela Restaurant Bar. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include sliced boiled potatoes with lettuce and olive in a creamy sauce, fried hot dogs, fried chicken chunks, fried pork rinds, tamales, Peruvian chicken soup, beef soup, fish soup, shrimp chowder soup, fried chicken, breaded chicken, grilled steak, breaded steak, beef stir fry, fish stir fry, shrimp stir fry, seafood stir fry, fried fish filet, Peruvian style paella, grilled shrimp, breaded shrimp, flan, rice pudding, and tres leches cake.

The next restaurant is a Latin American restaurant called Capuli Cocina Latina. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include tamales, cheese and chicken Gorditas, guacamole and chips, Mexican street corn, sweet plantains with cheese, nachos, hamburger and fries, tenders and fries, French fries and hot dogs, chicken soup, beef soup, chicken tortilla soup, hominy and pork stew, tacos, chicken fried rice, shrimp fried rice, chicken with mole sauce, lemon garlic shrimp, steak stir fry, mixed steak stir fry, grilled steak, fajitas, chicken flautas, chimichangas, and enchiladas.

The next restaurant is one of my favorites in South Norwalk, a pub called Donovan’s. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include clam chowder, French onion soup, Cajun popcorn shrimp, macaroni and cheese balls, fried calamari, chicken quesadilla, spinach and artichoke dip, crispy clam strips, crispy chicken tenders, which is my favorite thing to order there, pulled pork sliders, chicken parmesan sliders, Philly fliers, Philly chicks, blackened mahi mahi sliders, lobster sliders, pulled pork sandwich, reuben sandwich, roast beef French dip, Italian panini, Philly cheesesteak, hamburger, fish and chips, shepherds pie, chicken parmesan, New York strip steak, bread pudding, chocolate lava cake, and creme brulee cheesecake.

The next restaurant is a Georgian restaurant called Cheese & Bread. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include cheese imeruli, smoked cheese sulguni, Georgian gouda cheese, spinach mixed with onions and walnuts, eggplant infused with coriander, dried spices, walnuts, and pomegranate seeds, khachapuri, which is dough that is filled with cheese, mchadi cornbread, shoti bread, fried potatoes with meat and onions, homemade sausage kupati, fried chicken Cornish, shish kebabs, veal stew, mushrooms stuffed with cheese, mushroom soup, pumpkin cream soup, caramel cream cake, fruit tart, and tiramisu.

The next restaurant is a seafood restaurant called Harbor Lights. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include fried calamari, Greek spreads, crab cakes, saganaki, which is fried cheese, mini veal osso buco, lamb lollipops, crab cake sandwich, hot lobster roll, crab stuffed shrimp, broiled seafood combo, black Angus New York steak, rack of lamb, chicken cordon bleu, fish and chips, and an Angus burger.

The next restaurant is an Irish pub called O’Neill’s Irish Pub & Restaurant. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include French onion soup, New England clam chowder, cheeseburger sliders, corned beef reuben sliders, barbecue pulled pork sliders, shepherds pie, fisherman’s pie, fish and chips, corned beef and cabbage, chicken pot pie, Irish-style chicken curry, bangers and mash, chicken francaise, penne a la vodka, black Angus burger, grilled steak sandwich, and corned beef reuben panini.

The next restaurant is a Brazilian restaurant called Boteco Ipanema. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include fried tapioca and cheese squares, sautéed shrimp, fried Brazilian sausage and yucca, top sirloin sliders, fried ground beef cups, empanadas, roast potatoes topped with cheese, croquettes, cheese bread, feijoada, which is black bean stew with dried meat, pork, sausage, and bacon, skirt steak, New York strip steak, Brazilian seafood stew, paella, crispy chicken sandwich, churros, passion fruit mousse, creme brulee, caramel flan, and Brazilian sweet chocolate truffles.

The next restaurant is an Italian restaurant called Josie & Tony’s. Some of the interesting foods on their menu include caviar cannolis, mozzarella and roasted peppers, zucchini flowers that are stuffed with ricotta and herbs, spaghetti and meatballs, cannelloni, scallops, eggplant parmesan, chicken parmesan, pork chop, beef braciola, housemade spiral sausage, veal chop Milanese, grilled ribeye pizzaiola, zeppoles, cannoli cream puffs, rainbow cookies, and chocolate sponge cake.

Overall, there are many great restaurants in South Norwalk with many great options for food, so go ahead and check them out!
