Danbury Shopping Centers

As many of you probably remember, I wrote about the Danbury Fair Mall a while back. While I’m sure that all of you reading already knew about the mall, you might not know that there are several other shopping centers in Danbury that have many unique businesses. In this blog post, I will be writing about these shopping centers and talking about the businesses at them in hopes that it might encourage all of you reading to go visit them. As I have been to almost all these shopping centers when I was younger, I will also share with you some of the businesses that used to be at the shopping centers.

The first shopping center that I am going to talk about is Airport Plaza. It’s a small shopping center that has a total of 32,663 square feet and six businesses with one empty space. Some of the businesses they have had there in the past include Chuck E. Cheese’s, Fortunoff furniture store, and GameStop, all of which are businesses that have had financial troubles and closed many or all locations. 

The first business that is there right now is BevMax, a wine and liquor store.

The next business there is Flyt Smoke, which is a vape shop that I hope none of you reading ever go to. 

The next business there is a store that I have seen many times over the years, Mattress Firm.

The next business there is popular restaurant chain Buffalo Wild Wings. 

The next business there is popular ice cream chain Cold Stone Creamery. 

The last business there is some place called Papa Panda, which I think is a restaurant.

The next shopping center that I am going to talk about is the Danbury Green. It is a relatively big shopping center that is a total of 123,901 square feet, is located on I-84 next to a Hilton Garden Inn and has eleven businesses there. 

One business that I remember they used to have there was local clothing store chain Annie Sez, but I think that all their stores are gone. Another business that used to be there was a furniture store called Lillian August, but I think they have also closed a lot of their locations. Another business that used to be there was Blockbuster Video, which I found out was closed when I drove past it one time and saw another business in its place.

The first business that is there right now is one that you can find anywhere in the world, Starbucks Coffee.

The next business there is one that you will probably like if you have a dog, Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming.

The next business there is a fitness place that also has a location in Mount Kisco, Pure Barre.

The next business there is one of the most popular fast food restaurant chains, Chipotle Mexican Grill. 

The next business there is a gym that also has a location here in Mount Kisco, Orangetheory Fitness.

The next business there is a restaurant called Tuscanero’s Pizzeria. 

The next business there is one of the most popular grocery stores in America that I have been to many times, Trader Joe’s. 

The next business there is a pharmacy that used to have a location here in Mount Kisco, Rite Aid.

The next business there is a store called Warehouse Wines & Liquors.

The next business there is a store that also has a location here in Mount Kisco, Staples.

The last business there is a store that I am surprised is at this shopping center and not at the Danbury Mall, DSW. 

The next shopping center that I am going to talk about is The Shops at Marcus Dairy, which is located across the street from the Danbury Mall.

There is a business that is scheduled to open there early next year, Panera Bread. 

The first business that is there right now is a laser hair removal business called Milan Laser Hair Removal.

The next business there is a store that you can find almost anywhere in the world, AT&T.

The next business there is popular mattress store Sleep Number.

The next business there is GoHealth Urgent Care. 

The next business there is popular pants store Duluth Trading Co.

The next business there is a store that also has a location in Stamford, Hawley Lane Shoes.

The next business there is a hair salon chain called Supercuts.

The next business there is popular clothing store Carter’s.

The next business there is a salon called Shiny Nails.

The next business there is a store that also has a location here in Mount Kisco, Petco.

The last business there is the most popular grocery store chain in America, Whole Foods Market.

The last shopping center that I am going to talk about is one that I went to many times when I was younger, Danbury Square. It is a relatively big shopping center that has a total of 193,675 square feet and is located next to the Danbury Mall. 

As I first went there when I was younger and have gone there many times since, I know a lot of the businesses that used to be there. One of these is an Italian restaurant called Sinapi’s, which I went to with my family when I was younger. There also used to be a Famous Footwear store, but I think that closed when they were closing a lot of their locations. There also used to be a Christmas Tree Shops location here, which my mom enjoyed going to, but that closed when they went out of business. There also used to be a Barnes & Noble here, which I enjoyed going to when I was younger, but I was always disappointed that they didn’t have DVDs or Thomas the Tank Engine toys like other locations, and it recently moved to a bigger location at the Danbury Mall. There also used to be a Kids R Us store there, but it closed when they shut down all their stores in 2004. There also used to be a Toys R Us and a Babies R Us store there, but those both closed when the company filed for bankruptcy. There was also an Eastern Mountain Sports store that opened earlier this year, but it closed a few months later after they filed for bankruptcy.

For the businesses that are at this shopping center, I am going off of the listings on the website for Regency Centers, so some of these businesses have not opened yet, but they will in the future.

The first business that is there right now is a mobile device store for internet service provider Xfinity.

The next business there is a salon called Adela Nail Spa.

The next business there is a restaurant called Boost Bowls. 

The next business there is a barbershop called Legends Barber Co.

The next business there is a sporting goods store that also has a location here in Mount Kisco, Lacrosse Unlimited.

The next business there is popular musical instrument store Guitar Center. 

The next business there is a restaurant called Agogo Buffet and Sushi. 

The next business there is an outpatient infusion and injection center called IVX Health.

The next business there is an Italian restaurant called Luigi’s Famiglia Cucina. 

The next business there is a store that I have been to many times, Five Below.

The next business there is something called Danbury SJC CT, LLC.

The next business there is a store that my dad is often surprised is still there, David’s Bridal.

The next business there is scheduled to open some time next year, arts and crafts store Hobby Lobby.

The next business there is a restaurant called Niko’s Grill & Subs.

The next business there is one that is scheduled to open some time next year called Elicit Brewing Company.

The next business there is one of the most popular fitness chains in America, Planet Fitness.

The last business there is a discount retail store called Ocean State Job Lot.

Overall, there are many unique businesses at the shopping centers in Danbury, so go ahead and check them out!
