The SoNo Collection
The city of South Norwalk has experienced several changes in recent years, and certainly the biggest is the opening of The SoNo Collection! It is an upscale shopping mall that first opened in October 2019, is three floors, has 89 stores and services with two anchor tenants, has a variety of events going on there, and art on display there. In this post, I will write about the tenants at this mall and the events and other cool things to do there, in hopes that it will convince all of you reading to go and check it out.
The two anchor tenants at the mall are Nordstrom and Bloomingdale’s, which also happen to be the only locations for both stores in Southern Connecticut and the state of Connecticut respectively, which helps it stand out from other malls in Fairfield County.
It also has a variety of other tenants, many of which are clothing stores. These stores include Abercrombie & Fitch as well as the kids’ version of the store, an Aerie store, an Aldo store, a women’s clothing store called Altar’d State, a men’s clothing store called Alto Salto, an American Eagle Outfitters store, a women’s clothing store called AS Revival that is located inside the Altar’d State store, a Champs Sports store, a women’s clothing store called Charlotte Russe, a Chico’s store, a shoe store called Clarks, an H&M store that also has a houseware store called H&M Home located inside it, which moved there from the Stamford Town Center, a Hollister Co. store, a women’s clothing store called Intimissimi, a J. Jill store, a sports themed clothing store called JD Sports, the shoe store Journeys, the hat store Lids, a shoe store called Soleply, a women’s clothing store called Soma Intimates, a Talbots store, clothing store The Children’s Place, men’s clothing store UNTUCKit, a Victoria’s Secret store, a Zara store, and a Zumiez store.
The mall also has a few places that fall under the category of Health & Beauty. These include a Bath & Body Works store, an essential oils store called L’Occitane, cosmetics store Lush, a Sephora store, a salon called Skull & Combs Co., and a store called White Barn Candle Co.
The mall also has a few home and houseware stores. These include a store called Arhaus, a Casper store, an EQ3 store, an LA Home store, a Tempur-Pedic store, and a Zwilling J. A. Henckels store that sells a variety of kitchen products and utensils.
The mall also has a few stores that sell jewelry and watches. These include a Kay Jewelers store, a Lovisa store, a Pandora store, a Swarovski store, and a Tribu store.
There are also a few places that fall under unique categories of stores. These include electronics and entertainment stores like the Apple Store that moved there from the Stamford Town Center, a virtual reality arcade called Galaxy VR, two electronic maintenance kiosks called iFix Station, and a Verizon Wireless store. There is also a gym there called D1 Sports Training.
There are also several restaurants at the mall. These include a restaurant called Bazille that is located inside Nordstrom, a business called Black Pearl Bubble Tea, a small business called CafĂ© Oui, a snack business called Gelato & Cioccolato that sells gelato made fresh daily in Greenwich, a Haagen Dazs store, a southern restaurant called Jacob’s Pickles, a New American restaurant called La Picante Fine Foods, a coffee shop that is located inside Nordstrom, an Italian American restaurant called Pinstripes that also offers bocce and bowling, a poke restaurant called Pokelicious, a snack shop called Pretzelmaker, a restaurant called SoNo Ramen, an Asian restaurant called Uncle Seven, and a Yard House restaurant.
The mall also continues to have a variety of new stores to this day, as they recently opened the SoNo Arcade, and a fragrance store called Vibez. There are also some exciting stores coming soon to the mall, which are a restaurant called Chiwa Bistro, a GameStop store, a Hot Topic store, and a restaurant called Sally’s Apizza.
There is also a lot of art on display in the mall from eighteen different artists. The first artist on display is Kate Lewis, a muralist who brings a modern twist to impossible geometric forms. The next artist on display is Duvian Montoya, who is a painter and a muralist. The next artist on display is Alex Ferror, who is a visual artist, muralist, illustrator, and designer. The next artist on display is Matthew Hoffman, who has created large-scale public installations. The next artist on display is Cat Coquillette, an artist who takes inspiration from firsthand observations and encounters around the world. The next artist on display is Jen Lewin, who is a new media and interactive sculptor. The next artist on display is Drew Clay, who is an illustrator and designer. The next artist on display is Brett Whitacre, who specializes in pop art. The next artists are a duo, and they are Aaron Hauck and Samantha French, and they have both displayed their own paintings. The next two artists are Brian and Jennifer Henry, and their art consists of motion graphics and 3D-generated works. The next artist on display is Eric Friedensohn, who specializes in hand-drawn/painted art and site-specific works. The next artist on display is Emma Daisy Gertel, who is a muralist. The next artist on display is Natasha May Platt, who is also a muralist. The next artist on display is Jillian Evelyn, an artist whose paintings combine the contorted female figure with graphic shapes and a limited color palette. The next artist on display goes by the name Cooper, and he creates aesthetic nature and flower art. The final artist on display goes by the name FiveFingaz, who is the creator of the “Love More Than Ever” art movement.
There are also a variety of fun events at the mall. These include Pup Park, which is outdoors and goes from August 10-October 5, Tuesday night Zumba classes, Makeover Mondays, Thirsty Thursdays, Sunday Brunches, and Wine Down Wednesdays, all of which go to the end of the year.
Overall, I feel these are all great reasons for you to check out the mall. So, head over to SoNo and go see its biggest and newest addition!
