Holiday Lane at American Christmas: An Enchanting Journey
If you are looking for a fun holiday event to go to this month, head over to Mount Vernon, New York! From now until December 23, the Mount Vernon store American Christmas will be having an event called Holiday Lane at American Christmas: An Enchanting Journey.
This is described as an immersive walk-through holiday experience that features over 100,000 Christmas lights and more than 100 animatronics and figurines in nine uniquely themed areas. Guests will also have the opportunity to spend time in the expanded American Christmas shop, which currently occupies two floors and features some of the most unique decorations found anywhere in the region including collectable Christopher Radko ornaments. Santa will also be visiting Holiday Lane on Wednesdays from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Fridays from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM.
American Christmas is also responsible for the light displays in Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, Macy’s, Cartier, Saks, and Harry Winston. They have had Holiday Lane before, but they are describing the event this year as being an even bigger and brighter holiday extravaganza that will be twice the size of last year’s Santa’s Village. The event will also have several opportunities for guests to take photos and Dickens-like interactive vignettes.
The first of the nine sections is called A Wish to the North Pole, which is described as where you begin your journey with handwritten note to Santa and your wishes take flight to reach the North Pole. The second section is called Stable Express, which is where you meet their friendly reindeer as they prepare for their annual journey with Santa’s sleigh. The third section is called Grant Your Wish, which is described as a magical area where you can make a wish and dreams are bound to come true. The fourth section is called Sweet Dreams, which is where you can experience the enchantment of sugar plum fairies and gingerbread delights in a sugary dreamscape. The fifth section is called the Elves’ Quarters, which is where you get a peek into the bustling world of Santa’s helpers as they prepare for Christmas. The sixth section is Santa’s Workshop, which is where you watch Santa and his elves put the finishing touches on the year’s most-wished-for toys. The seventh section is called Gift Overflow, and it is where you are surrounded by an abundance of gifts and surprises. The eighth section is called Arctic Cave, and it is where you can explore the icy beauty of the Arctic with shimmering lights and frozen wonders. The ninth and final section is called Santa’s Take Off, and it is where you conclude your journey at Santa’s sleigh as he prepares for his journey around the world.
As with last year’s Holiday Lane, all the money that is made from ticket sales will be donated to three area nonprofit organizations. They are the Mount Vernon Boys and Girls Club, the Northeast STEM Starter Academy of Mount Vernon, and the Youth Community Outreach Program.
So, get your tickets, and go see an amazing winter wonderland right here in Westchester!
