If you’re looking for a fun place to go with your whole family, head over to the Legoland Discovery Center in Yonkers, New York! This is an indoor family attraction that features models of local landmarks made from Lego bricks, building classes taught by master builders, a 4-D movie theatre, and some small rides and play fortresses. One of the rides that they have is called Kingdom Quest. It is an interactive ride where you are riding in chariots mounted with laser guns that you will be firing at skeletons and trolls on your journey to rescue the princess. Stamford Downtown Parade Spectacular 2023

Image
On Saturday, I went to the Inflation Party for the Stamford Thanksgiving Balloon Parade. These are events that I have been going to for my entire life, so much so to the point that I am now friends with some of the people in charge of the events. This year, however, things seemed a little different compared to previous years. When I got there, they had already started inflating some balloons. While it’s not strange that they started inflating balloons before the scheduled start time, what seemed strange at first was that they were using leaf blowers. We then found out that this was a change they had made this year as a way of saving helium. This makes sense, as the balloons don’t need to float at the Inflation Party, they just need to be inflated. The leaf blowers were also very powerful, as the balloons were each inflated in a matter of minutes, and they were also fully inflated compared to previous years. The people in charge of the event also seemed more excited than in recent years...

Image
If you are looking for the perfect event to celebrate the holiday season, head over to Valhalla! From November 24 to December 31, the town of Valhalla will be having its annual Winter Wonderland Drive-thru Holiday Light Extravaganza at Kensico Dam Plaza. This event used to be much larger, with rides, ice skating, and even a circus. They were forced to turn the event into a drive-thru format during 2020 due to the pandemic and have decided not to go back to that format ever since. The event itself currently consists of a 1.2-mile drive-thru that has thousands of Christmas lights. Along the route will be some of the usual favorites that people have come to expect. These include two elves named Ned and Albert, angels of peace and a 50-foot dove, dancing trees, glowing snowballs, candy cane lane, a 100-foot light tunnel, and a 40-foot Christmas tree. In addition to these regular favorites, there will also be some new additions this year. One new addition will be a character named Snowball ...

Ridgefield Playhouse

Image
If you live in the area of Fairfield County in Connecticut and are looking for a place to see some great shows, head over to the Ridgefield Playhouse! The venue was opened in the year 1938 as a high school and town theatre. After three decades in business, it was closed in 1972 when a new and larger high school was built. 22 years after that, in 1994, a group of Ridgefield residents joined together and formed Friends of Ridgefield Performing Arts Center. After years of attempting to get the theatre reopened, the town approved the project in 1998. The Ridgefield Playhouse opened in December 2000 with a performance from Jose Feliciano. While its first season of operation only consisted of about twelve shows with the theatre open from September to May, it has since grown to having more than 200 shows a year as well as movies and can hold an audience of 500 people.  The venue still holds many amazing shows to this day under a variety of categories. As part of their comedy series, they ...
