Sleepy Hollow Music Festival

Last June, Westchester County experienced the introduction of a new event, the Sleepy Hollow Music Festival! This is an event that takes place in early June at Kingsland Point Park on the banks of the Hudson River, and features food trucks, beer gardens, craft vendors, a VIP area, a kids zone, and of course, live music from both local and well known artists. In this blog post, I will be talking about what the event featured in its inaugural year, and what it’s going to feature this year, in hopes that it will encourage all of you reading to go check it out.

When the event kicked off last year, there were two stages, one which was for local music, and one which was for the headliner performers.

The first local artist to perform there last year was an alternative country rock band called Divining Rod.

The next local artist to perform there was a roots rock and eclectic Americana band called The Barn Vultures.

The next local artist to perform there was an indie rock band called Letter To Elise.

The next local artist to perform there was an acoustic quartet that blends elements of lo-fi pop, deep soul melodies, and traditional country folk in their music called The Sweet Vermouths.

The next local artist to perform there last year was School Of Rock in Briarcliff Manor.

The next local artist to perform there was country and rock and roll band Anthony Giaccio and the Assortments.

The last local artist to perform there last year was rock and roll band Clare Maloney and the Great Adventure.

The first headliner performer they had last year was 90s alternative rock band The Verve Pipe, who are best known for their songs “The Freshman” and “Photograph.”

The second headliner performer they had last year was an R&B, soul, and trip hop singer named Danielle Ponder, who used to work as a public defender, and only recently started to pursue a career in music in 2022.

The third headliner performer they had last year was a music collective called The Nightingale All-Stars, which featured rock singer Joan Osborne and John Popper, the lead singer of Blues Traveler.
The last headliner performer they had last year was indie rock band Cold War Kids, who are best known for their songs “Hang Me Up to Dry,” “Skip the Charades,” and “First.”

The event also featured an appearance from the Headless Horseman of course, and people could also buy t-shirts, hoodies, trucker caps, beanies, alcoholic beverages provided by the Beekman Ale House and The Tapp in Tarrytown, and food trucks that offered foods like empanadas, sausages, pizza, and lobster rolls.

This year, the event will be taking place on June 7, and will go from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and will again take place at Kingsland Point Park.

This year, they will have a massive kids zone that has sensory and soft play, a junior jam tent and instrument petting zoo, as well as several inflatables and sports. For those of you who have no idea what an instrument petting zoo is, it’s something for kids that consists of a traveling collection of instruments that are brought to an event, laid out on two or three tables, and people can come by, pick them up, and try them out.

There will also be more than a dozen food trucks this year, and while they haven’t said which ones will be there this year, I imagine that it will be the same food trucks as last year, which includes Wanna Empanada, Sausage Kings, Nathan’s Famous Hot Dogs, Jimmy’s Soft Serve, a smash burger food truck called Get Smashed, Cousin’s Maine Lobster, and Wing King. They will also have more than 30 vendors for people who like to go shopping. They will also have more options for beer and beverages this year in their beer garden, as there will be craft beer from Soul Brewing Co. in Pleasantville, Simple Motive in Yonkers, and Yonkers Brewing Co. The beer garden is also sponsored by local legends Beekman Ale House, and you can also sample their mixed drinks and beer on tap.

They have another exciting lineup this year, with performers on both the local performers stage and the headliner performers stage.

The first local performer that they have is an afrobeat/jazz/funk band called The Brighton Beat.

The next local performer that they have is a rock/Americana singer named Alex Cano.

The next local performer that they have is an R&B, reggae, rock, pop, and funk fusion singer named Christine Chanel.

The next local performers that they have is School of Rock Briarcliff, who will be returning from last year.

The next local performers that they have are a folk rock band called The Dan Zlotnick Band.

The next local performer they have this year is a rock band called Shakeout.

The last local performer they have this year is whoever is going to be the winner of The Rock The Riverbank Competition.

There will also be a total of five performers on the headliner stage throughout the day.

The first headliner performer they have this year is alternative and indie band Carissa Johnson and the Cure Alls, who are famous for songs like “Congratulations,” “You,” “Middle of Nowhere,” “The Outline,” and many others.

The next headliner performer they have this year is an indie rock supergroup called Fantastic Cat, who are famous for songs like “So Glad You Made It,” “All My Fault,” and “Later On.”

The next headliner performer they have this year is English alternative, indie, and country singer Jade Bird, who is best known for her songs “Lottery,” “Uh Huh,” “I Get No Joy,” and “Headstart.”

The next headliner performer they have this year is hard rock band Living Colour, who are best known for their songs “Cult of Personality,” “Glamour Boys,” “Type,” “Love Rears Its Ugly Head,” and “Leave It Alone,” and they have also been nominated for four Grammy Awards.

The last headliner performer they have this year is indie and alternative rock band Band of Horses, who are best known for their songs “The Funeral,” “No One’s Gonna Love You,” and “Casual Party.”

Overall, there are many exciting things to see and do here. So, on June 7, head on over to Kingsland Point Park and go hear some amazing music!
