Things To Do Near You

It’s been a while since I have written about a nearby event, so I figured now would be the perfect time to do so! Since we are currently in the summer, I felt it was appropriate to write about a farmers market in the area, and since I haven’t written about it yet, today I am going to talk about the Chappaqua Farmers Market. I will be going over all the vendors that participate in it, in hopes that it will encourage all of you reading to check it out.  The first few vendors that I will talk about fall under the category of Specialty.  The first vendor is a knife sharpener from Hastings-on-Hudson that is only there on the second Saturday of every month called Ready, Set, Sharp. The next vendor is The Copper Faucet Soap from White Plains, which sells handcrafted soaps. Today I am going to write about one of the most interesting places I have ever been to, City Island! This is a neighborhood in the northeastern Bronx that is located on an island of the same name that is approximately 1.5 miles long by 0.5 miles wide, and is located at the extreme western end of Long Island Sound, south of Pelham Bay Park, and east of Eastchester Bay. In this blog post, I will be discussing some of the unique features here, the unique businesses, and the restaurants here as well, in hopes that all of you reading will want to check it out.  One interesting fact about the island is that at one time, the island was incorporated within the boundaries of the town of Pelham in Westchester County, but it has been part of New York City since the late 19th century. My previous blog post had to do with restaurants in Fairfield County, and today I am going to bring it a little closer to home, as I am going to write about restaurants in Northern Westchester! I will be discussing several restaurants in the surrounding area and some of the interesting foods on their menus in hopes that everyone reading will be interested in checking them out and going to support them.  The first restaurant that I am going to talk about is The Kittle House Inn in Chappaqua.
