The Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze
If you are looking for an exciting event to go to this Halloween, head over to Croton-on-Hudson! From now until November 19, you can go to the Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze at Van Cortlandt Manor! This is an event that has been around since 2005 and has only grown over the years. It features more than 7,000 hand carved pumpkins along the grounds of the old estate. Walking through the entire path of jack o’lanterns is said to take a total of 45 minutes, but some guests walk through it even longer because they are looking at how impressive the pumpkins are. What has made this such an iconic event not only for Westchester County but for all of New York state, is how much work is put into making these massive pumpkin sculptures. While there are standard jack o’lanterns with faces carved into them throughout the trail, the jack o’lanterns are used to make many different sculptures that can best be described as artwork.
