Pleasantville Music Festival

Image
If you are looking for a fun and exciting event in Northern Westchester this summer, head over to the Pleasantville Music Festival! This event is a single-day music festival that is held at Parkway Field in Pleasantville in the month of July and features a variety of performers. The event first started in 2005, and has happened every year since, with the exceptions of 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic. The performers that they get are major acts that are headliners for the event, up-and-coming regional acts, and small local bands from the tri-state area. In this post, I will be going over all the major artists that have performed there over the years and finish off with the artists that were just announced as performing there this year.  The first festival in 2005 didn’t have as many notable names as following years, but they did have some names that are noteworthy. One of these artists is a country and folk singer named Jonathan Edwards, who is best known for his 1971 song “Sunshi...

Paley Center Masked Singer Exhibit

Image
I recently made a blog post about a Masked Singer exhibit that is happening at the Paley Center in New York City, and I have an update regarding this event, which is that I recently went to see it in person! In this post, I will be sharing everything that was there and what it was like.  The exhibit began right when I walked in the building. A few feet from the entrance was a giant screen that played four looping videos, which were every unmasking before Season 10, all the unmaskings in Season 10, and two trailers for Season 11. On both sides of the screen were two costumes. One of them was The Gumball, which is one of the costumes in this current season. Me and my parents were amazed by how big the costume was, though I shouldn’t have been too surprised considering the celebrity that I think is underneath it is six feet tall. It was also cool seeing it right in front of me, as it made me wonder what it was made of, as there were parts to the costume that looked like they were made...

Tarrytown And Sleepy Hollow Farmers Market

Image
I recently made a blog post about the Pleasantville Farmers Market, and today, I am going to make a blog post about another great farmers market in the area! This one is the Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow Farmers Market, or as they call it, the TaSH. This is a farmers market that first started in 2015, is described as being a destination in Westchester County, and won several America’s Farmers Market Celebration awards in 2023. During its main season from May to November, it is held at Patriots Park, which is on the border of Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow, and all the vendors go around the park in a big circle. It also has live music, chef demos, art projects, and children’s activities.  Their outdoor season will kick off on May 11, and will feature more than 30 vendors, some of which are already confirmed, and some that still have to confirm. I will share the vendors that are confirmed to be part of it so far this year and what they sell.  The first vendor is Arlotta Food Studio f...

It will also be covering a time period of two weeks and will go from April 8-April 21.  Restaurants that are participating in the event are in Dutchess County, Greene County, Orange County, Putnam County, Rockland County, Sullivan County, Ulster County, and Westchester County.
