Stamford Downtown Parade Spectacular

Image
Hello everyone!  It’s almost the end of October, so I think you all know what that means! I’ll give you a hint, it’s something that everyone looks forward to year after year! That’s right! I’m talking about the Stamford Downtown Parade Spectacular! What else would I be talking about? I mean, as we all know at the time when I am writing this, October 24, there is absolutely nothing that people look forward to celebrating between then and November 22 and November 23. As someone who has been going to the parade for literally my entire life, I feel that it makes me kind of an unofficial ambassador for it, which also makes it my responsibility to write about what you can expect from this years parade. Before I get into that though, I would like to talk about some balloons from years past that probably won’t be in the parade anymore, either due to relevancy of the character, the size of the balloon, or the fact that the balloon just straight up doesn’t exist anymore. One balloon that was...

Desserts At Westchester County Restaurants

Image
Hello everybody!  I have enjoyed writing about all the offerings at various bakeries in the area, so I felt it was only natural that I continue with the next logical thing, which is writing about desserts at several restaurants in the area. I will be following the same format that I have used for my bakery posts, in that I will be giving a virtual tour of the dessert menu of the restaurants, in hopes that if you are ever at any of these restaurants, you might want to stick around for dessert. The first restaurant that I am going to talk about is 179 Bar and Grill in New Rochelle. The first dessert they have is Apple Tacos, and it consists of Flaky Crust holding Caramelized Apples, and is served with Vanilla Ice Cream and Butterscotch Sauce. The next dessert they have are Churros with Cream and Chocolate Dipping Sauce. The next dessert they have is a Homemade Tiramisu. The next dessert they have is a New York Cheesecake. The next dessert they have is a Tartufo Truffle, and it consis...

Bakeries In NYC And Long Island

Image
Hello everyone!  I have been having so much fun writing about bakeries, that I am going to do it again! This time, I am going to write about bakeries in New York City and other parts of Long Island, as the majority of my friends live in the city currently, and again, a lot of my cousins live in Long Island. I do realize there are way more bakeries in the city than there are in Westchester County, Nassau County, or even the entire state of Connecticut, so I am going to write until I feel that I am unable to continue writing about city bakeries, by taking you all on virtual tours of their menus. The hope behind this post is that all of you reading that live in the city are interested enough to go check them out. The first bakery that I am going to talk about is Empire Cakes in Chelsea.  The first baked good they have is Chocolate Chip Brownies that are made with Bittersweet Chocolate. The next baked good they have is Rainbow Cookies, and it consists of Three Layers of Moist Almo...
